A New York Giants fan, now being referred to as the NFL’s “Phillies Karen,” contrived to turn even more people against her after what’s being considered a fake apology.
The female fan, who has since been ID’d on account of her recent TikTok video, after actions were immediately likened to the Phillies fan who harassed a dad and his kid for a home run ball earlier this month.
A viral video showed the moment the fan, who goes by the name of Nina Miller on an account she shares with her husband, Michael, snatched a headband from a young boy right after Patrick Mahomes handed it to him.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was shown walking to the kid and giving him the item, but another hand grabbed it from him and made off.
“Yo, she just stole that from me,” the boy said in embarrassed surprise.

Despite being a Giants fan, Nina initially claimed she had every right to take the band, insisting that Mahomes brought it to her.
However, she has since apologized, sharing another video in which she offered to return the headband to the kid, whose name she says is Joey, asking the internet to help make it happen.
“Guys, I just want to talk to you for one minute from my heart,’ Nina said in the follow-up TikTok video. ‘At the game, with all the noise and all the excitement, I honestly thought that Pat Mahomes was giving me the headband. I reached for it without thinking.
“Later I found out that it was meant for that little boy for his 10th birthday. When I found out I felt horrible, because I don’t want to ruin anyone’s little time at the game and ruin their little birthday.”
Folks didn’t quite buy the apology and have further criticized Nina, calling her out for trying to walk back on her actions simply because she got caught.
“He literally looked at you and said “you took that out of my hands”’ one user wrote in the comments.
“I’m sorry I got caught,” said another.
“She felt horrible cause she’s getting dragged all over social media,” added a third.
“Omg stop making excuses. You literally came online and double down about how the kid needed to toughen up. Maybe you need to toughen up if you can dish it out you can take all the backlash. This is why you don’t pick on little kids,” another comment read.
While the apology may have been disingenuous, we do hope that the young Chiefs fan gets the headband back.
The kid in the Phillies Karen situation got plenty of other incentives to make up for his loss. That may very well be the case for Joey.
