The Arizona Cardinals made a roster move to fill the vacancy on the 53-man roster. They announced that running back Michael Carter was signed from the practice squad to the active roster.

Carter was elevated from the practice squad to play on Thursday against the Seattle Seahawks. He played four offensive snaps and one on special teams and had one rushing attempt for a yard.

His addition gives the Cardinals four running backs on the roster again. James Conner was placed on injured reserve last week and will miss the remainder of the season.

It is the third season he has spent at least part of the year on the Cardinals’ active roster. In 2023, he played in six games and rushed for 149 yards.

Last season, after spending almost the whole year on the practice squad, he appeared in three games, rushing for 135 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals’ running back room now looks like this:

Replacing him on the practice squad, the Cardinals signed running back D’Ernest Johnson.
