If you’re bummed by the recent injuries to Lane Johnson and Jalen Carter, cheer up. Several NFL rosters are in worse shape than the Philadelphia Eagles.

That includes the Baltimore Ravens. Not only were they rocked by the news that Lamar Jackson will miss a couple of weeks. Most of their defensive starters are injured. Fortunately, Philly isn’t in that position, but the Ravens have added to their nest. They added an offensive lineman, and it’s former Eagles Kenyon Green.

C.J. Gardner continues to wait for his next NFL opportunity.

Well, you have to admit this is interesting. In May, for the second time in three offseasons, the Eagles determined that one of the crucial orders of business was to move off of C.J. Gardner-Johnson. As you all know, he and Green were part of an offseason trade by the Eagles that sent C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Houston Texans.

Neither was able to make it work in their new home. The Eagles waived Green as September neared its close (for the third time since camp). Gardner-Johnson received his walking papers shortly thereafter.

Green has found a new opportunity. Gardner-Johnson is still waiting on his, and here’s why this is so telling. C.J. G.J. can play a little slot cornerback, and if anyone needs secondary help, it’s the Baltimore Ravens.

Their statement basically says it all. Despite an obvious need for secondary reinforcements, they would rather roll the dice on an offensive lineman than take on all of the drama that comes with a safety who is now looking for his fourth home since leaving the Eagles after the 2022 offseason.
