The Tennessee Titans are back in Nashville and will hit the field on Wednesday to start preparations for their Week 5 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, but that didn’t stop them from updating their rolodex and working out multiple players on Tuesday.Â
Tennessee worked out a whopping 12 players on Tuesday, including Elijah Cooks, Zane Gonzalez, Dustin Hopkins, Greg Joseph, Marshall Lang, Lance McCutcheon, Brenden Rice, Colton Spengler, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Zach Triner, Ben Woolridge, and Matthew Wright.
It should come as no surprise that the Titans decided to look at the special teams and work out a few kickers, with Joey Slye struggling with his accuracy. In all, Tennessee worked out six players specifically tied to special teams, including four kickers.Â
In fact, all four kickers brought in for a workout —Gonzalez, Hopkins, Joseph, and Wright —all have NFL experience and would be veteran additions if Tennessee decides to make a move. Zach Triner (long snapper) and Colton Spengler (punter) rounded out the special teamers brought in.Â
The other six players working out for the Titans were on the offensive side of the ball with three wide receivers, two quarterbacks, and a tight end.Â
Of those players, the most recognizable name would likely be quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who created some preseason buzz with the Cleveland Browns as a rookie after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL draft, but his preseason performance didn’t translate into the regular season. The Browns traded him to the Philadelphia Eagles during the offseason, and he was one of their final cuts in August.Â
All three wide receivers are big targets, with Brenden Rice being the son of Hall of Famer Jerry Rice. With wide receiver Calvin Ridley a bit banged up, the Titans working out a few wideouts does track. This was the fourth workout for Rice since being released by the Los Angeles Chargers.Â
