The Arizona Cardinals have lost running back James Conner for the season. They might be without their new starting running back, Trey Benson, when they face the Tennessee Titans in Week 5.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Benson banged his knee at the end of the Cardinals’ 23-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. While it is not believed to be serious, his status for Week 5 is in question.

Benson was not present during the Cardinals’ extra practice on Monday, and head coach Jonathan Gannon said that he was day-to-day.

The first official injury report of the week will come out Wednesday afternoon. We will see whether he is able to practice at all.

Michael Carter was signed from the practice squad to the active roster, and the Cardinals brought in four running backs to try out on Tuesday. If Benson is unable to play on Sunday, the trio of Carter, Emari Demercado and Bam Knight will be the guys to handle the rushing attack.

Benson has rushed for 160 yards so far this season, averaging 5.5 yards per attempt, and he has 13 receptions for 64 yards.
