The Miami Dolphins are hosting 19 rookies and one veteran on a tryout basis at their 2025 rookie minicamp.

According to the team’s rookie minicamp roster, veteran cornerback Kendall Sheffield will be among those vying for a roster spot with the Dolphins. The former Atlanta Falcons fourth-round pick has appeared in 49 NFL games and started 20, most recently playing six games with the New York Jets in 2024.

In addition to Sheffield, the following rookies are with the Dolphins on a three-day contract:

WR Sam Brown Jr. (Miami, Fla.)OL John Campbell Jr. (Tennessee)OL Zach Carpenter (Miami, Fla.)FB Jared Casey (Kansas)QB Brett Gabbert (Miami, OH)LS Jacob Garcia (Utah State)DB Ramon Henderson (UCLA)LB Jestin Jacobs (Oregon)OL Nick Malone (West Virginia)OL Cooper Mays (Tennessee)DT Gavin Meyer (USC)LB RJ Oben (Notre Dame)DB Seyi Oladipo (Boise State)DB Braden Price (Rhode Island)WR DeVonte Tanksley (UT Martin)LB Amin Vanover (Penn State)LB Phillip Webb (Jackson State)OL Preston Wilson (Oklahoma State)LB Derek Wingo (Florida)

Gabbert is the younger brother of former first-round pick Blaine Gabbert, who spent 13 seasons as a quarterback in the NFL.

Following the release of veteran long snapper Blake Ferguson, undrafted rookie Kneeland Hibbett is the only long snapping specialist on the Dolphins’ roster. Garcia, who spent four seasons as Utah State’s starting long snapper, will compete for the job this weekend.

The Dolphins’ rookie minicamp started Friday and will continue until Sunday. Last year, Miami signed three rookies to contracts after they impressed in tryouts: offensive lineman Ireland Brown, defensive tackle Mario Kendricks, and cornerback Jason Maitre. All three were later waived by the Dolphins, although Maitre returned near the end of the 2024 season and is currently on the team’s roster.
