The Minnesota Vikings have had to adapt to the challenges in 2025 as they navigate a tough schedule. They started the year missing two key starters, such as Christian Darrisaw and Jordan Addison, on offense, and the unit struggled as a result. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy had a hard time operating behind the offensive line, missing Darrisaw, and Jefferson was being force-fed the ball, which allowed coverages to focus on him.
In the meantime, Carson Wentz has been enjoying the company of both players, and the offense has looked much better as a result.

Because of Wentz looking as good as he has, and with some teams having some quarterback struggles, could the Vikings look to capitalize on his value? ESPN’s Dan Graziano threw out the idea that someone could trade for the veteran quarterback. He was asked if a quarterback could be traded before the deadline, he wrote, “Now, it could be someone such as Carson Wentz or Kenny Pickett, which wouldn’t exactly make headlines, but I think you’re asking if it could be someone such as Kirk Cousins or Russell Wilson or one of the Cleveland rookies (Dillon Gabriel was named the Browns starter Wednesday morning). Anything’s possible.”
The Vikings are already loaded up on draft picks with a projected total of 11. Trading away Wentz would net them another in the upcoming class and have Kwesi Adofo-Mensah in position to make a play and be aggressive in the NFL Draft, as he has shown he can be.
