Jacksonville Jaguars’ safety Eric Murray was on the practice field on Thursday as the team prepares for their Monday Night matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco, Murray was practicing in a red non-contact jersey.

Murray would exit the Jaguars‘ Week 4 win over the San Francisco 49ers with a neck injury, and he was eventually ruled out and did not return.
What Murray’s status will be for this week’s game still remains to be seen–there are still two days of practice left. However, Murray being on the field on Thursday is certainly a good thing.
A free agent signing by the Jaguars, Anthony Campanile has raved about Murray’s ability as a communicator on the back end of the defense. As the old saying goes, a communicating defense is a confident defense.
So far this season, Murray has logged four quarterback pressures and has been a very sound tackler. According to PFF’s metrics, he’s also been one of the better safeties against the run.

In coverage, Murray has allowed six receptions on nine targets for 63 yards with an interception and two pass breakups.
Along with Murray being on the practice field, so was wide receiver Dyami Brown.
