After wrapping up this year’s edition of rookie minicamp, Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales took a little time out to chat with reporters on Saturday afternoon.
He was asked about the energy of his young players who were experiencing the NFL for the first time, and how that radiates throughout the staff.

“It’s great,” Canales replied. “Hopefully, my contribution to it is—I’m excited about what we’re doing every day. And I realize how important the margins are. All the NFL teams are loaded with talent, and the way that you can separate yourself is by doing the little things right.
“And just the care—from myself, from Ejiro [Evero], from Brad [Idzik], from Tracy [Smith], the coordinators, and all the position coaches. Our approach to every day, the amount of work that goes into presenting these meetings in the classroom, this is not just another meeting. We’ve put a lot of time and a lot of thought into how to onboard you.
“And hopefully, they’ve felt this weekend, the passion out of our staff, the passion out of Josh Hingst and Danny Kellington taking care of things and just the whole entire organization, just how important each day is. And so hopefully, that’s an infectious way to kinda see life and what a great opportunity it is that we have.”
So, before we move on to the next stage of Carolina’s offseason, let’s take a look at some of those opportunities.
