The Cincinnati Bengals claimed former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Jordan Jefferson off waivers on Friday, per the Associated Press’ Josh Dubow.
A 6-foot-2, 316-pound defensive tackle, the 49ers claimed Jefferson ahead of the 2025 NFL season off waivers after the Jaguars released him during their final August cuts. Ironically enough, Jefferson’s lone game action with the 49ers came against the Jaguars.
Per Pro Football Focus, Jefferson saw 12 defensive snaps against the Jaguars but didn’t record a stat during the 49ers’ 26-21 Week 4 loss.
Jefferson was originally drafted by the Jaguars with the 116th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft. Jefferson notched 12 tackles and one sack across eight games with the Jaguars in 2024.
A native of Navarre, Fla., Jefferson spent four years at West Virginia and one final collegiate season at LSU. During that 2023 campaign at LSU, Jefferson registered 36 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one pass defensed.
Jefferson tallied 90 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, eight passes defensed and one forced fumble during his five college seasons.
