It’s rare in sports when one of a team’s best player is lost for the season to an injury. It’s even more rare with two teams in the same market lose one of their best players just a few days apart.

It happened in South Florida, with the champion Florida Panthers losing lynchpin star Aleksander Barkov and then the Miami Dolphins losing star receiver TyreekHill, boht to knee injuries.

Barkov will miss the entire NHL season that opens this coming Tuesday. Hill miss miss the restof the NFL season.

Which do you think is the bigger, more impactful injury? The one that will hurt his team the most?

It’s Barkov for my vote, mainly because the Panthers are trying to be the NHL’s first triple-champ in more than 40 years, and the loss of their captain is a crushing blow. But there is an argument that Hill is more valuable to a less-talented Dolphins team, and that his absence could cost the team a chance to work into playoff contention.

You say what?

Vote as many times as you like or until your fingers ache.

GREG COTE’S POLL DANCE: Is Barkov or Hill the bigger injury absence?

Previous Poll Dance verdict: Resoundingly, Marlins season is seen as a success: We asked, “Was this Miami Marlins season a success?” You said: YES! 63%, Lean yes 28%, NO! 5% and Lean no 4%. Remarkably, that’s a combined 91% thumb’s-up.
