Reedsville talks gritty win over Howards Grove

The Reedsville defense forced four turnovers and got three field goals from kicker Lucas Lodel to defeat Howards Grove on Sept. 25.

The high school football season is now rounding the final corner, with six of the nine regular season weeks complete.

With that in mind, here are the top 29 players, in alphabetical order, who have stood out this season.

Jovan Adamavich, so., Sheboygan South

The sophomore leads the Redwings with 399 yards rushing and four touchdowns. All stats are through Week six.

Benjamin Backus, sr., Mishicot

Backus leads Mishicot with 669 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns on 91 carries. He’s also thrown for 642 yards and another seven scores through the air.

Noah Blaha, sr., Sheboygan North

Blaha’s 529 yards rushing and five touchdowns leads the Golden Raiders. He has a 12.3 yards per carry average on 43 attempts.

Blake Buhr, sr., Sheboygan North

Buhr, who has committed to play as an edge for North Dakota at the NCAA Division I level, had tallied 50 tackles, 41 solo, with 16 tackles for loss and nine sacks.

Austen Dekker, jr., Sheboygan South

Dekker is a dual-threat quarterback for the Redwings, with 422 yards passing and 290 yards rushing with seven total touchdowns.

Jaquon Foth, jr., Manitowoc Lincoln

Foth is the offensive centerpiece for the Ships, gaining 416 yards on 96 carries with a pair of touchdowns.

Ira Hilbelink, jr., Cedar Grove-Belgium

Hilbelink has 474 yards rushing with seven touchdowns on the season.

James Holler, sr., Howards Grove

Holler’s racked up 637 yards rushing on 113 carries with eight touchdowns.

Griffin Knight, jr., Cedar Grove-Belgium

Knight has 26 catches for 367 yards and six touchdowns this season.

Ely Kohlman, jr., New Holstein

Kohlman is a walking highlight reel, with seven receiving touchdowns on just 23 catches, for 373 yards. He also has returned a fumble, interception, a kickoff and punt return for touchdowns.

Brayden Lenz, jr., Valders

Lenz has carried the rock 82 times for the Vikings for 463 yards and seven touchdowns.

Max Matthias, sr., Two Rivers

Matthias has 35 tackles, 28 solo, with seven TFL on the season.

Keaton Milbrath, sr., Howards Grove

Milbrath has caught 36 passes for 689 yards and six scores for the Tigers while also picking off three passes as a defensive back. He also has a punt return touchdown.

Deven Miller, sr., Plymouth

Miller has shined both as a running back and linebacker for the Panthers. He’s tallied 862 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns on 80 carries while compiling 40.5 tackles, 30 solo, with eight TFL.

Aiden Oldenhoff, jr., Kohler/Lutheran/Christian

Oldenhoff has thrown for 1,137 yards with 14 touchdowns for the tri-op and a QB rating of 157.9.

Jaymen Ott, sr., Manitowoc Lutheran

Ott has an astounding 197.9 QB rating, with 967 yards passing and 10 touchdowns through six games. He has another 203 yards and three scores with his legs.

Ben Prochnow, sr., Reedsville

Prochnow has thrown for 790 yards with eight touchdowns for the Panthers with a QB rating of 134.6. He’s also picked of three passes, including a 97-yard touchdown return, on defense.

Conner Schaefer, jr., New Holstein

Schaefer is a workhorse for the Huskies, carrying the ball 124 times for 782 yards with six touchdowns.

Mason Schaefer, jr., Kiel

Schaefer has rumbled for 664 yards and five touchdowns on the ground for the Raiders.

Carter Schmitz, sr., Cedar Grove-Belgium

The Rockets quarterback has 990 yards passing with 15 touchdowns through six games while adding another four scores with his legs.

Noah Shillcox, sr., Two Rivers

Shillcox has thrown for 892 yards with six touchdowns and a quarterback rating of 130.6.

Harry Schroeder, jr., Howards Grove

Schroeder has a QB rating of 132.8 with 1,137 yards and eight touchdowns.

Kingston Steward, sr., Sheboygan North

Steward has accumulated 49 tackles, 38 solo with 12 TFL and four sacks on the year so far.

Payton Storck, sr., Random Lake/Ozaukee

Storck does a little bit of everything for the co-op, with 312 rushing yards and five touchdowns while also leading the team with 131 yards receiving. On defense, he has 34.5 tackles, 26 solo, with four TFL and a pair of sacks.

Dominic Thiele, sr., Roncalli

Thiele’s thrown for 820 yards with five touchdowns and a QB rating of 131.6.

Sawyer Van Drisse, sr., Roncalli

Van Drisse has 776 yards rushing on 139 carries with 13 touchdowns for the Jets. He also has 33.5 tackles, 19 solo, with 2.5 sacks and 7.5 TFL on defense.

Isaac Wagner, sr., Manitowoc Lutheran

Wagner leads the Lancers with 474 yards rushing and nine touchdowns. He’s also caught four touchdowns on just six receptions.

Howie Zeman, sr., Reedsville

Zeman has 91 carries for 516 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. On defense, he’s intercepted a pair of passes.

Carter Zimmermann, jr., Kohler/Lutheran/Christian

Zimmermann has 36 catches for 589 yards and 10 touchdowns in six games with a 16.6 yards per catch average.
