When it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team’s needs are fairly clear even after just four games. Looking ahead to the team’s pending free-agency situation, it’s fairly clear where the Steelers will focus their resources in the offseason. Pro Football Network has a new mock draft out for the 2026 NFL draft and they are sticking to the script for the Steelers when it comes to positions of need. Let’s break down the picks.
First round – QB Garrett Nussmeier – LSU
Nussmeier has been up and down but clings to a first-round grade and a ton of potential. Getting him at No. 27 feels like a good value but don’t be shocked when the Kenny Pickett comparisons pop up soon.
Second round – WR Kevin Concepcion – Texas A&M
The Steelers offense is built around short throws and yards after the catch. This is where Concepcion is great so this is a solid fit.
Third round – CB Chandler Rivers – Duke
Rivers is a bit undersized and doesn’t really fit what the Steelers want in a boundary cornerback.
Third round – S Keon Sabb – Alabama
Safety is an interesting choice here with Juan Thornhill, DeShon Elliott and Chuck Clark on the team. We might be inclined to look at an interior offensive lineman here to potentially replace Isaac Seumalo.
