The Denver Broncos got their drive going to end the first quarter with a 20-yard chunk pass from Bo Nix to Troy Franklin to get the ball near midfield.

To start the second quarter, the Broncos tossed it outside to JK Dobbins for around five yards. Then Dobbins ran up the middle for ten yards and another first down for Denver. He backed that up with another seven yard gain on the next play, before taking his third straight handoff outside for what appeared to be a first down. An illegal formation penalty removed the first down, however.

Nix went deep on the next play, but just overthrew his intended target. On third and eight, Nix was obliterated up the middle for a sack to take them out of field goal range.

After pinning them deep at their own 9 yard line, the Broncos defense had a chance to keep the field position flipped. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles had other ideas. They would get a nice throw into AJ Brown for a first down. A tackle for a loss by Talanoa Hufanga on the next down and a short sack brought up a third and 12. Then a false start made it third and 17. Hurts then unloaded deep to Devonta Smith who smoked Riley Moss for a 57-yard completion.

A pass interference call on Pat Surtain at the goal line on the next play gave the ball to the Eagles at the two yard line. Hurts then found Dallas Goedert in the end zone for the touchdown.

The Broncos offense needed to respond to that Eagles 90-yard drive. They started things off with a catch and run by Trent Sherfield for 15 yards on first down. Then a quick pass outside to RJ Harvey gained six, but a false start by Garett Bolles set them back to a second and nine. That would kill the drive for the Broncos, so not the response they needed.

With just over two minutes left in the half, the Eagles faced a third and 13 from midfield. Zach Allen and Nik Bonitto converged to sack Jalen Hurts to force the punt.

Needing a score before halftime, the Broncos picked up 15 yards on a screen pass to Tyler Badie to bring the half to the two minute warning. A quick screen pass to Troy Franklin only netted five yards, then Nix misfired over the middle to Badie. On third and five, aired it out to no one to kill the drive. Not ideal to attempt a low percentage go ball when all you need is five yards.

Denver did force a quick three-and-out and got the ball back at their own 44-yard line with 51 seconds left. A three yard loss to Evan Engram and an incompletely pass ran the clock down to 21 seconds. On third and 13, Nix went deep to Trent Sherfield where he drew the defensive pass interference. However, the officials decided there was no penalty and picked up the flag.

Denver goes into halftime down by a touchdown and with zero momentum.
