Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears have started showing flashes of the team they were expected to be over the last couple of weeks. With the two straight wins they have put together, they now hold a 2-2 record.
While Williams has started playing better after the first two weeks of the season, the offense is still missing a consistent ground game.
Right now, the Bears are starting D’Andre Swift in the backfield. He hasn’t been bad, but no opposing defense fears the current setup for Chicago in the backfield. That should be a priority to change during the 2026 NFL offseason.

With that being said, a potential option has been suggested for the Bears. They could find a perfect running mate for Williams in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Jacob Infante of Pro Football Network has released a new mock draft that would see Chicago land a franchise running back. He has the Bears selecting Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love in the first round.
“Jeremiyah Love isn’t far from the Ashton Jeanty comparisons you’ll hear in this class,” Infante wrote. “He’s a dynamic, three-down runner with impressive burst, vision, balance, and fluid cuts. He drops out of the top ten of our 2026 NFL Mock Draft due to positional value, but he’s a top-10 overall prospect in this class.”
Love has had another extremely productive season so far for the Fighting Irish. He has positioned himself nicely to be the top running back taken in the 2026 NFL Draft class.
So far this season for Notre Dame in five games, Love has carried the football 82 times for 444 yards and six touchdowns. He has also caught 14 passes for 160 yards and three more scores.
Last season, the 6-foot-0 and 214-pound running back picked up 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns on 163 carries. He averaged 6.9 yards per attempt and also caught 28 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns.

On the outside looking in, Love could be the perfect long-term running mate for Williams. If he lives up to his full potential, he would be the kind of piece that could take a lot of pressure off of the passing game. His presence could take the Chicago offense to the next level.
It’s just an idea at this point in time, but Love is a name worth keeping a close eye on as the 2025 NFL season continues on.
