WEST BOYLSTON, Mass. – West Boylston football coach Mike Ross has won Super Bowl and state championships with North, Grafton and the W.B., the Lions have won 3 straight state championships. Â Ross isn’t just a coach for 4 months out of the year, he is there for the kids year round and for the rest of their lives. Â “OK, Mike Ross has had an awful lot of success at West Boylston and also he’s had a great deal of success at Grafton and North high,” Â said West Boylston Assistant Coach, William “Dutch” Holland, Â “he’s he’s very much of a coach who enjoys the hitting and the contact and the kids love that part of practice he also make sure that he touches all the bases when we’re going up against an opponent. He’s pretty well covered everything that that team tends to do. Â During the winter months we start in January and our off-season program he runs the off-season program he works with the kids, he knows everybody by name he knows the younger kids. He gives him a lot of encouragement, he really works with the kids, he cares about them, it shows up.”
Â
“I just think he’s great at knowing kind of when to build kids up and break them down so to speak,”  said Assistant Coach, Greg Smith,  “he’s obviously, he knows offense and defense and that kind of stuff, but I think it’s more between the between the lines off the lines off  the field whatever you wanna say in terms of dealing with the kids and talking to the kids and building them up when they need it and give them the right coaching to improve and get them to improve every week.”
