The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football to close out Week 5 of the NFL season.

The Jags have yet to lose either of their two contests at home and are sitting at 3-1 on the year. They held on to beat the San Francisco 49ers last week, 26-21, in an impressive upset.

Playing Patrick Mahomes and the 2-2 Chiefs on primetime is a tall task, and with Kansas City coming off back-to-back dominant wins, they are finally starting to look like themselves again.

The Chiefs have allowed the fourth-fewest passing yards in football so far, with the Jags right behind them, allowing the fifth-fewest. On offense, things are still looking to get back on track for both competitors. The Chiefs rank just 23rd in yards per play, with the Jags sitting at No. 25.

Will the Chiefs improve to 3-2, or will the Jaguars get to a commanding 4-1 record on Monday Night Football? The staff at Newsweek Sports has some insight.

Nelson Espinal: The Chiefs scored a big win against the Baltimore Ravens last week. They get a chance to make it three wins in a row against a surging Jaguars squad. The Jags are a surprising 3-1, though their level of competition has been poor to start the season. Their signature win was a 26-21 victory against San Francisco.

Trevor Lawrence is still struggling with accuracy issues, and against a good team like the Chiefs, he might cost the team a chance to win a key home game. Meanwhile, the Kansas City offense, newly motivated by the release of Taylor Swift‘s new album, is finally getting healthy, and Patrick Mahomes looks miles better with receivers who can get open. Expect a dominant, statement win by the Chiefs, who should be able to rush the passer and get Lawrence to make mistakes.

Prediction: Chiefs 27, Jaguars 13

Aaron Coloma: The Chiefs have established themselves as a dynasty in the NFL, though they haven’t looked quite as sharp this season. On the other hand, the Jags have strung together a couple of solid wins over the last couple of weeks. Despite this, I think Kansas City will stroll to a win without much difficulty.

Prediction: Chiefs 27, Jaguars 17

Gabe Smallson: The Chiefs didn’t look like themselves to start the season, but if there was any rust on them recently, they will surely ‘shake it off’ on prime time. Both teams have had question marks on defense and an offense that hasn’t lived up to its truest potential, but if both teams play their best, I will always go with the team that has Patrick Mahomes on it. The Jaguars have too many flaws on offense that will be exploited by defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, and we will get to see the Chiefs offense work closer to its highest potential.

Prediction: Chiefs 31, Jaguars 20

Noah Camras: The Chiefs and Jaguars are closing out Week 5 in a battle between an under-performing Kansas City team and an over-performing Jacksonville team. The Chiefs are road favorites in this one, and Patrick Mahomes and co. will get the job done to move above .500 for the first time this season.

Prediction: Chiefs 27, Jaguars 19
