The Indianapolis Colts should be checking in on a recently released linebacker.
On Monday, Ian Rapoport reported that the Las Vegas Raiders released linebacker Germaine Pratt. Rapoport added that Pratt did not travel with the team to Indianapolis for “non-injury reasons.”

The Cincinnati Bengals released Pratt earlier this offseason, prior to him eventually signing with the Raiders.
Pratt will be very familiar with the Colts‘ defense under Lou Anarumo, given that he played under the Indianapolis defensive coordinator for several seasons in Cincinnati. This should allow him to hit the ground running if signed.
His presence would also bring an added coverage ability next to Zaire Franklin. That WILL linebacker spot for the Colts has been a revolving door at this point with Joe Bachie, Austin Ajiake, and Chad Muma all seeing snaps each week and providing mixed results.
In coverage over his career, Pratt has held pass catchers to 9.6 yards per reception and has generated eight interceptions and 10 pass breakups, per PFF.

Pratt was also a team captain with the Bengals and ranked in the top 10 in tackles last season. According to Tom Pelissero, Pratt was one of only three players with 140-plus tackles and six or more turnover plays.
