The Titans officially waived wide receiver Treylon Burks on Tuesday, meaning he joins a long list of Tennessee first-round picks no longer with the organization.

Burks was initially waived with an injury designation by the Titans in July, after he suffered a broken collarbone in training camp. But he wound up reverting to the team’s injured reserve list after clearing waivers.

The team has now waived him from injured reserve, bringing an end to his disappointing stint in Tennessee.

The Titans chose Burks with the 18th overall pick of the NFL Draft in 2022, hoping the former Arkansas standout could replace Pro Bowler A.J. Brown, who had been traded to Philadelphia that same night.

But Burks wound up playing just 27 games over four seasons, catching 53 passes for 699 yards and a mere single touchdown.

The 6-2, 225-pound Burks was plagued by injuries while with the Titans, as he missed a combined 24 games from 2022-24 due to a toe injury, a groin injury, two knee injuries and two concussions.

When Burks did play, he was rarely productive, catching just 57.6 percent of the passes thrown to him. Burks’ most productive year was his rookie season of 2022, when he totaled 33 receptions for 444 yards and a touchdown in 11 games.

Even before the collarbone injury, Burks’ chances of making the roster this year appeared iffy, after the team signed receivers Tyler Lockett, Van Jefferson and James Proche, then drafted receivers Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike.

“I like his ability, I like his talent,” Titans coach Brian Callahan said of Burks before the collarbone injury.

“The thing that he’s got to do for us — and I think he’s on the same page with it — is you’ve got to find the production. You have to make the plays when you have opportunities to make them — that’s in practice, that’s in preseason games, that’s in regular season games.”

Burks’ release means six of the Titans’ last 10 first-round draft picks are no longer with the team in any capacity.

Burks, cornerback Caleb Farley (2021), tackle Isaiah Wilson (2020), linebacker Rashaan Evans (2018) and wide receiver Corey Davis (2017) are not currently in the NFL. Tackle Jack Conklin (2016) plays for Cleveland.

The four first-round picks from the past decade still with the Titans are quarterback Cam Ward (2025), tackle JC Latham (2024), guard Peter Skoronski (2023) and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (2019).

NOTE: Also Tuesday, the Titans released defensive back Alex Johnson from the team’s practice squad.
