INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts continue to deal with injuries at the cornerback position.

Indianapolis placed veteran slot cornerback Mike Hilton on practice squad injured reserve on Tuesday, losing a player who has made two starts and played 70 snaps in place of an injured Kenny Moore II.

Hilton had five tackles, one tackle-for-loss and a forced fumble.

The Colts signed Notre Dame product Troy Pride, Jr. to take Hilton’s spot on the practice squad. A fourth-round pick by Carolina in 2020, Pride played 14 games as a rookie with the Panthers, but he has played sparingly since, seeing one game with the Raiders in 2023 and two for the Cowboys a year ago.

If Moore isn’t able to go, Indianapolis will likely turn to veteran Chris Lammons, who played 46 defensive snaps in relief of Hilton on Sunday, recording three tackles and two pass breakups in the process.

Moore’s availability for the Cardinals game this week remains uncertain. The veteran slot cornerback suffered an Achilles injury against the Titans two weeks ago, and while the Colts did not believe he needed to be placed on injured reserve — a designation that would force Moore to miss a minimum of four games — he has not practiced in the two weeks since suffering the injury.

Hilton, a 32-year-old who spent the past four seasons playing for Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo in Cincinnati, allowed four completions in five attempts during his 70 snaps in the slot, but opposing receivers picked up just 30 yards against the veteran.

Lammons broke up two passes last week, but he’s mostly been a special teamer to this point in his career.
