Each week during the regular season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ communications department publishes a “Game Release” to aid the media in coverage of their upcoming game. Within that release are a number of documents regarding the player roster, including a depth chart, which lists the pecking order at every position on offense, defense and special teams.

Each game week, we will be taking a closer look at that depth chart, pointing out any changes or relevant notes from the previous game and which players saw notable action in that game. Let’s start on offense. Rookies are marked with an asterisk. Players we will be discussing in depth are highlighted in bold text.

OFFENSE

WR: Mike Evans, Ryan Miller

WR: Chris Godwin, Sterling Shepard, Kameron Johnson

LT: Tristan Wirfs, Benjamin Chukwuma*

LG: Ben Bredeson, Elijah Klein

RG: Luke Haggard, Dan Feeney

WR: Emeka Egbuka, Tez Johnson

TE: Cade Otton, Payne Durham, Devin Culp

QB: Baker Mayfield, Teddy Bridgewater

RB: Bucky Irving, Rachaad White, Sean Tucker, Josh Williams*

Luke Haggard made his third straight start at right guard, as he has taken over that spot since Cody Mauch landed on season-ending injured reserve. As such, the Buccaneers have now adjusted their depth chart accordingly, flipping Haggard and Elijah Klein, the latter of who mis now listed as Ben Bredeson’s backup at left guard.

With Bucky Irving sidelined by foot and shoulder injuries, Rachaad White made his first start of the season against Seattle and was on the field for 80% of the offensive snaps. He produced 71yards from scrimmage, none bigger than his clock-eating 12-yard run on third-and-seven on the final drive, and scored two rushing touchdowns. Sean Tucker gave White some relief with 13snaps, and he got the ball on six of those plays.

Rookie wideout Tez Johnson saw more extended playing time for the second week in a row, with 22 offensive snaps, and turned in his best performance yet, with four catches for 59 yards. Ryan Miller actually started the game in a three-receiver package alongside Emeka Egbuka and Chris Godwin, but he only played nine spans and was not targeted.
