Georgia Southern started their season slowly with road losses to Fresno State and USC, but bounced back with home wins against Jacksonville State and Maine. Keeping with the trend, their last contest was a 35-10 road loss at James Madison, in which the Eagles couldn’t control the line of scrimmage, getting outgained 331-27 on the ground. Quarterback JC French threw a pass to Taylor Bradshaw from 12 yards out late in the third quarter for their lone touchdown.
