What’s at stake? For the Chargers they need a bounce back after their last two horrendous and uncharacteristic losses. They have hit rock bottom but they need this win. This is an AFC matchup, which the Chargers are 3-0 in. Plus, Denver and Kansas City are coming. Wins need to start piling up.
For the Dolphins, they need to show they have a pulse. They are coming off a terrible loss to the Carolina Panthers in which they dominated the game.Â
Who’s better? Chargers but honestly who knows at this point. The Chargers have been the better squad the last two weeks but their offensive line is horrendous. Their defense all of sudden isn’t tackling and it is a mess. One win can change everything.
Matchup to watch:Â Chargers secondary vs. Jaylen Waddle/Darren Waller. Those two are the engine fueling the Dolphins offense with Tyreek Hill out. Waller will face off against Derwin James again, which will be a fun matchup. Also, they need to get new pass rusher Odafe Oweh going to disrupt Tua.
Chargers win if:Â They can protect Justin Herbert. Not much else anyone can say on the matter. They need to start protecting him or he could get seriously hurt. Chargers are basically down to left tackle #3 and right tackle #3, so it will be interesting to see what way Greg Roman schemes this game plan.Â
Fantasy sleeper: Ladd McConkey. They need to get him going because this offense isn’t the same without him.Â
Prediction: I have been wrong the last two weeks. There is no way they can lose again, right? Jim Harbaugh won’t allow three straight losses will he? Chargers 17, Dolphins 16.
