NAZARETH, Pa. — Nazareth High School graduate and Super Bowl champion Jahan Dotson is being honored by his community in a big way.

The Philadelphia Eagle – and former Blue Eagle – has had his Nazareth High School football jersey retired.

School spirit was at an all-time high for the Nazareth Blue Eagles as Dotson returned to his home field for the retirement ceremony.

“I’m proud of him, everyone here is proud of him. It’s just great how he got here,” said Chance Arduini.

Blue Eagle pride soared for the former Nazareth football star and current Eagles wide receiver.

His No. 5 jersey is now retired, and his legacy continues to inspire.

“I think it’s cool to have such an inspirational figure from our area,” said Tim Rader.

“I think he’s really good, and I really want to follow in his footsteps – going to the NFL, going to Penn State,” said Liam Zeller.

Dotson is both well-known and well-loved in his hometown.

“My dad had him in class way back when, and it’s awesome. I used to go to the games and root for him,” said Lucas Schoeneberger.

“My dad coached him in Clippers football, and my older brother played with him,” said Connor Dezzi.

“Just love to see a kid from Nazareth make it all the way,” said Andrew Reinert.

“It’s so awesome that he keeps coming back, introducing himself to the kids, doing camps and everything like that,” said Carly Reinert.

Those who knew Dotson in school say he was always focused on football – and they’re thrilled to see him living his dream.

“For him to reach the goals he had back in fifth grade and exceed them – it’s just amazing to see,” said Rhonda Fehr, Dotson’s fifth-grade teacher.
