By the time halftime had arrived, Buckeye led Vidalia 40-0. In the second half, the Vikings showed some signs of life as Elmari ‘Juice’ Lewis threw two touchdown passes, the first one late in the third quarter and the second one about a minute into the fourth quarter, to make it a 40-14 game.

However, Buckeye (4-2, 1-0) did not prove itself to be a gracious guest late in the game. The Panthers scored on rushing touchdown with about 3:00 left to go up 47-14. Then with less than a minute left, instead of doing the honorable thing and take a knee to end the game, the Panthers decided to score on another rushing touchdown.

Vidalia (2-4, 0-1) next plays at district rival Jena High School at 7 p.m. next Friday.
