THE Cleveland Browns will be without Nick Chubb next season, it was confirmed this week.
Browns general manager Andrew Berry revealed on Friday that Chubb is not expected to return to Cleveland for the upcoming season.

Berry didn’t exactly fill Browns fans with confidence that they could keep Chubb during an appearance on 92.3 The Fan.
He said: “I wouldn’t rule anything out, but I would say that it’s probably increasingly unlikely [that Chubb will be staying].
“We do have two young guys that we liked. We think Jerome (Ford) plays a role. It’s basically kind of maybe seeing how the roles shake out in the running back room.
“You’re never going to rule out someone as near and dear to our heart as Nick, and I would expect him to take another step being a year removed from the knee injury.
“But I’d say a return is less likely, at least in the short term, with us right now.”
Running back Chubb, 29, has been with the Browns since 2018, becoming a four-time Pro Bowler and one of Cleveland’s star performers.
But injuries hampered his career in recent years and it seems that the Browns are focusing their attention and finances on other running backs like Jerome Ford and draft picks Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson.
And although the unlikely return of Chubb might be a blow to most Browns fans, it could spell something positive for Shedeur Sanders.

Sanders, whose high profile draft slide saw him selected in the fifth round by the Browns, could now benefit from the roster space likely to be vacated by Chubb.
The 144th overall pick seemed a certain first or second round pick, but now has people questioning if he will even stay on at the Browns past the pre-season – especially given Cleveland’s third round selection of QB Dillon Gabriel.

But GM Berry has insisted that he isn’t paying attention to the media storm surrounding the Colorado Buffaloes thrower.
He said: “No. I don’t really pay any attention to any of that.
“I mean, we’re super excited to have him, you know, we spent a lot of time with him in the process.
“He’s a good kid. He’s talented, you know, we were surprised that he was available at 144, and we’re excited to add him to the room.
“But he’s got to compete and earn a role just like Dillon, Kenny [Pickett], Joe [Flacco]… I don’t really care about the narratives.
“And so we’re excited to see that competition because we do have a number of players in that room that we have a level of belief in.”
