CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Trey Hendrickson is not going anywhere, for now, at least, according to the latest reports.
The Bengals sit at 2-4 and have lost four straight games. Despite the losing streak, ESPN NFL insiders Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano say Cincinnati is still “all-in on this season.”
It was a tumultuous offseason between the Bengals and Hendrickson.
The All-Pro pass rusher held out at the start of training camp before returning to Cincinnati while seeking a long-term contract.
Hendrickson did reach an agreement ahead of the 2025 season that gave him a $14 million raise.
That contract agreement came a week after reports said Cincinnati was listening to trade offers for Hendrickson.
The mid-August trade report said teams wanting Hendrickson would have to pay a high price.
The latest team linked with a possible trade for Hendrickson is the San Francisco 49ers.
Fowler reported Wednesday that the 49ers see Hendrickson as an “ideal fit” if Cincinnati would accept “reasonable compensation” in a trade.
Yes, the 49ers have been scanning the trade market for pass-rush options.
I’m told the Niners consider Trey Hendrickson an ideal fit for their defense if the Bengals would part with him for reasonable compensation.
Graziano added that Cincinnati is not planning on trading Hendrickson.
However, things could change, he explained.
The trade deadline is Nov. 4, and should the Bengals be sitting at 2-7 at that time, they could be more open to the idea of trading Hendrickson.
