A former Seattle Seahawk has found a new NFL home. After being released by the Seahawks at the beginning of March, veteran safety Rayshawn Jenkins has signed with the Cleveland Browns, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Cleveland, under head coach Kevin Stefanski has boasted one of the better defenses in the league. Now they add an eight-year veteran into the mix.

Jenkins played in 13 games for the Seahawks, and started the first nine before suffering an injury, sideling him for a few weeks on the injured reserve list. During that time, Coby Bryant filled in spectacularly in the role and retained it even after Jenkins returned to action.

Jenkins requested a trade from Seattle earlier this offseason. When a trade did not materialize, the Seahawks opted to release him.

During his one season in the Pacific Northwest, Jenkins was a solid player. He recorded 53 total tackles, two sacks, and made franchise history with his 102-yard fumble recovery touchdown against the New York Giants. This is a record that is likely to stand for quite some time.
