Here is the latest practice status update on Jaguars’ DE Travon Walker.
On the Jacksonville Jaguars’ first Week 7 injury report, defensive end Travon Walker was listed as a full participant.
Although Walker practiced all three days last week, this is the first practice since suffering the wrist injury that he has been a full-go, which could be a sign that his workload will increase this week.
While Walker did play this past Sunday against Seattle, he was on a pitch count. According to PFF, Walker played just 16 snaps, seeing most of his playing time come during obvious passing situations.
Potentially getting Walker back at full capacity this week would provide a much-needed boost to the Jaguars‘ pass rush.
Josh Hines-Allen continues to produce at a high level individually, but there is room for more from this unit as a whole. Jacksonville will enter this week’s game ranked 23rd in ESPN’s pass rush win rate metric and 28th in sacks.
On the season, Walker has produced 16 quarterback pressures and two sacks over 113 pass-rushing snaps. He also continues to be a stout run defender.
In addition to Walker and Hines-Allen, veterans Emmanuel Ogbah and Dawuane Smoot have been relied on heavily as rotational members at defensive end, along with Dennis Gardeck getting some pass rush reps as well this season.
