The 49ers’ 30-19 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday wasn’t just upsetting due to the end result, but the team also lost their defensive leader in Fred Warner for the season.

In addition to that, San Francisco’s coach Kyle Shanahan and wide receiver Jauan Jennings had a heated exchange that was caught on cameras during the second quarter of the game.

Shanahan and Jennings both addressed the situation following the loss, but 49ers general manager John Lynch joined KNBR’s Murph and Markus on Thursday to issue his thoughts on the matter.

“I think two passionate people trying to win a game and sometimes those things happen,” Lynch said. “We’ve talked a lot about it on this show, there’s cameras everywhere, there’s people with their eyes on, but that stuff’s been going on for years. Competitive people trying to win football games and I kind of like it. I like that will and they figured it out and we move on.”

Lynch, whose on-field alter-ego was nicknamed “47 Red” knows all about fiery competition and intensity understands during the grind of an NFL season that sometimes emotions can boil over.

Jennings, who has played four games for San Francisco this season has had more than two catches in just one game and finished Sunday’s loss to the Bucs with one catch for seven yards.

The NFC West-leading 49ers are 4-2 on the season heading into their Week 7 Sunday Night matchup against the 3-2 Atlanta Falcons.
