We don’t know quite yet what the Indianapolis Colts’ exact 2025 schedule will look like, but we do know who the opponents are, and so that means we know which quarterbacks the Colts will be up against this year as well.

GM Chris Ballard has spent a large portion of the offseason reshaping the Colts’ secondary. This included making two big free agent additions, signing safety Cam Bynum and cornerback Charvarius Ward. In addition to that, Ballard also added veteran cornerback Corey Ballentine in free agency and used a top 100 pick on cornerback Justin Walley.

Along with the personnel changes to the Indianapolis defense, the Colts also brought in a new defensive coordinator in Lou Anarumo. Schematically, this year’s Colts’ defense is going to look quite different from what it did under Gus Bradley.

There will be more designed pressures and a greater reliance on the secondary with more DB-heavy personnel groupings. Anarumo will also bring more man coverage looks, more coverage disguises, and overall, a more aggressive scheme.

Improved play in the secondary can then hopefully have a trickle-down effect to the Colts’ defensive front, specifically the pass rush. Whether it be sacks or pressure rate, the Colts ranked in the bottom third of the NFL last season. However, with opponents frequently attacking Indianapolis’ secondary through the quick game, it made consistently getting home up front a lot more difficult.

So, with all of that said, which quarterbacks will this new-look Colts’ defense have to contend with in 2025?

Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins)

Trevor Lawrence (Jaguars)
