Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season is already upon us and the action will wrap up with a Monday night doubleheader. The first game will be a battle of top teams in the NFC with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visiting the Detroit Lions at 7 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN.
The Bucs were able to actually win without late-game dramatics last Sunday, downing the 49ers in a 30-19 victory. Tight end Cade Otton had himself a productive afternoon and he’s starting to pick up it up after a quiet first month of the season.
Below, we’ll go over Otton’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 7.
Fantasy Football analysis: Buccaneers TE Cade Otton
Otton grabbed five of his six targets for 51 yards in last week’s victory over the 49ers, a nice follow-up to his 81-yard performance against the Seahawks the week prior. The fourth-year tight end is beginning to heat up in the passing game after being a ghost in the first month of the season. That was by design as the team needed him to help as an extra blocker with all of their offensive line injuries, so it’s not a coincidence that his production has picked up since Tristan Wirfs made his season debut a few weeks ago.

Start. The Bucs are still dealing with major injuries on offense as Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka have been ruled as game-time decisions while Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving have been ruled out. That opens the door for Otton to once again have a good receiving day and it would not be a surprise to see Baker Mayfield target him in the red zone for his first touchdown of the season. I’d give him a start in this spot.
