Don’t beat yourself up. It’s normal to rewatch every highlight from the Philadelphia Eagles‘ Super Bowl 59 victory. It’s normal to have done so as often as you have.

It was a night to remember. The Jalen Hurts bomb thrown to DeVonta Smith to seal things will forever be etched in everyone’s memories, but so will all of the defensive highlights.

Patrick Mahomes ran for his life all evening. It was beautiful. Two sacks on first and second down during a second-quarter Kansas City Chiefs drive preceded Cooper DeJean’s pick-six, one that doubles as the first interception during a Super Bowl in Eagles franchise history.

Fangio’s unit suffered tremendous losses during the offseason. Valuable contributors and veteran leadership are both gone. Darius Slay, Josh Sweat, Milton Williams, Oren Burks, Isaiah Rodgers, Avonte Maddox, and James Bradberry are all gone thanks to free agency and tough decisions that needed to be made.

That’s not all. C.J. Gardner-Johnson was traded away. There’s no reason to be afraid, though. Philly compensated for its losses by adding low-risk free agents and several defenders in a quality NFL Draft class.

They also have young stars on the roster, many of whom are still signed to their rookie contracts. Two have an opportunity to earn All-Pro mentions in 2025, along with a veteran who was a low-risk, high-reward signing last season.

Three Eagles who could find themselves on All-Pro teams after the 2025 NFL regular season.

Vic Fangio won’t be short on weapons in 2025. Dare we say the Eagles’ defense actually has a shot at improving? Josh Uche, Azeez Ojulari, Patrick Johnson, and Adoree’ Jackson were all signed to help remedy the mass exodus. Young and promising prospects like Jihaad Campbell, Andrew Mukuba, Ty Robinson, Mac McWilliams, Smael Mondon, and Antwaun Powell-Ryland were added during the NFL Draft.

The new guys won’t have to shoulder the load alone. They’ll team with an already-stellar young core. Three of its members are on our list of early All-Pro candidates.

Zack Baun, linebacker

This one is a no-brainer. Zack Baun found his home after some forgettable seasons in New Orleans, thanks to being misused by the Saints. He earned a First-Team All-Pro mention in 2025 for his efforts.

Nakobe Dean will likely begin the season inactive. That means more responsibility for Baun. No one should question whether he has the tools to be named an All-Pro for a second consecutive season.

Quinyon Mitchell, cornerback

Quinyon Mitchell landed on the Pro Football Writers Association’s All-Rookie Team in 2024. He was a finalist for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award along with teammate Cooper DeJean. Former Eagle and franchise legend Ron Jaworski compared him to Deion Sanders.

That type of statement can be seen as disrespectful to a legend or pressure-inducing to a youngster. Q can handle the heat. He’s every bit as talented as some of the game’s best, including 2024 Defensive Player of the Year Patrick Surtain, and Slay’s exit means Mitchell is now out of the six-time Pro Bowler’s massive shadow.

Jalen Carter, defensive tackle

This one should be obvious. Anything missing from Jalen Carter’s toolbox (if anything is missing) might not ever be a necessary tool in his belt.

He seemingly has it all, and had he not sacked Matthew Stafford on the final third down of the Los Angeles Rams’ final drive, we might not have seen a Super Bowl victory parade.

Like Baun, he earned All-Pro honors in 2024. Carter also earned his first Pro Bowl nomination, and here’s what’s scary (or wonderful, depending on your paradigm). He has only scratched the surface. He still has loads of untapped potential that could catapult him into being a future Pro Football Hall of Famer.
