New York Jets starting quarterback Justin Fields was benched during his team’s NFL Week 7 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
The Cincinnati Bengals host the Jets at Paycor Stadium in Week 8, on Oct. 26.
Fields completed six of his 12 attempts for 46 passing yards. He was sacked three times.
Fields was replaced by Tyrod Taylor, who was 10-of-22 for 126 passing yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Jets fell to 0-7 this season.
Former Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton helped clinch the 13-6 win for Carolina. Dalton was 4-of-7 for 60 yards after replacing Bryce Young, who left the game with an ankle injury.
Fields replaced Dalton as the Chicago Bears‘ starter in 2021.
