The Carolina Panthers appear to finally be hitting their groove. Carolina has won three straight games to go above .500 and stay within striking distance of the NFC South title. Unfortunately, they’re expected to be without their leader for some time.

“Panthers QB Bryce Young suffered a high ankle sprain on Sunday, an MRI revealed, and he is expected to miss this week’s game against the #Bills, per sources. Andy Dalton is now in line to start against Buffalo, and quite possibly beyond,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on Monday.

Now, the Panthers have made a move to fill in some depth at the position while Young is out.

“Veteran QB Mike White is signing with the #Panthers practice squad, per sources. With Andy Dalton expected to start Sunday against the Bills in place of an injured Bryce Young, White — who spent last season in Buffalo — now heads to Carolina,” Pelissero reported.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Fortunately for him, Joe Brady has one of the worst playbooks in the NFL so they shouldn’t have to worry too much,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“I like this pick up honestly. Guy was pretty good when he played for a backup,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see if White ever takes the field in Carolina.
