Zac Taylor on Flacco after win against Steelers

The New York Jets are expected to name Tyrod Taylor their new starting quarterback ahead of an NFL Week 8 matchup with the 3-4 Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium, according to a report from ESPN’s Rich Cimini.
Jets owner Woody Johnson showed support for head coach Aaron Glenn with remarks Johnson made Oct. 21, despite the Jets’ 0-7 start this season. But Johnson expressed disappointment with starting QB Justin Fields, who was benched for Taylor during the Jets’ Week 7 loss to Carolina.
One day after Fields was replaced by Taylor after halftime, Glenn told reporters he hadn’t decided which QB will start in Cincinnati.
Taylor, who turned 36 in August, played his first four NFL seasons for the Ravens, when Joe Flacco was Baltimore’s starting quarterback.
Taylor, in his second season with the Jets and 15th NFL season overall, is 2-1 in three career starts against the Bengals.
All three of Taylor’s starts against the Bengals have come in Cincinnati.
Taylor helped the Bills to a 16-12 win in Nov. 2016, but lost 20-16 to the Bengals in Oct. 2017.
Taylor led the Chargers to a 16-13 win against the Bengals in Sept. 2020.
Taylor replaced Flacco at QB in the Ravens’ Dec. 2012 loss to the Bengals.
