Another week, another loss.

As far as the standings are concerned, the New York Jets (0-7) are the worst team in the NFL heading into Week 8. The Jets lost, 13-6, against the Carolina Panthers most recently, securing them as the only remaining team in football that has yet to win a game in 2025.

Are the Green and White at the bottom of the barrel in power rankings like they are in the standings heading into Week 8?

Here’s how the Jets fare in national media power rankings polls before Week 8:

Reality check: It’s hard to figure out which QB to go with

And it might not matter. Aaron Glenn said Monday that he’ll consult with other coaches about the best way to proceed at quarterback. But as Justin Fields struggles, is there really much of a difference between him and backup Tyrod Taylor?

Week 7 Result: Lost vs. Carolina 13-6

Every week, it feels more and more likely Aaron Glenn will be one-and-done as the New York Jets’ head coach. If he sticks beyond this year, he probably won’t be joined by offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand.

Nothing is working for the Jets offensively, and Justin Fields hasn’t been the only issue. Fields was replaced by Tyrod Taylor for the second half on Sunday, and it didn’t make a substantial difference.

New York’s quarterback of the future clearly isn’t on the roster, and no one should be surprised if the Jets start selling off other veterans who aren’t in their long-term plans.

32. Jets (-)

At 0-7, with a quarterback benched, they need to start scouting the top passers for next year. They look to be on their way to the top pick.

Tyrod Taylor was terrible in relief of the terrible Justin Fields, proving that the Jets have a terrible team to go with their terrible quarterbacks. They’re also terribly coached. On the bright side … nope, sorry, I’ve got nothing.

Chance of making playoffs: <1%Chance of winning Super Bowl: <1%

In the last few weeks, the Jets have gone from a fun team with a losing record to a team that just doesn’t look like it’ll ever win a football game. Now 0-7, the Jets struggled to muster six points against a Panthers defense that has yet to fully find its feet over the last few seasons. Even a quarterback change, benching Justin Fields for Tyrod Taylor, couldn’t do the trick. The Jets are heading for the No. 1 overall pick

Unsung nonstarter/role player: P Austin McNamara

McNamara signed with the Jets in March as competition for Thomas Morstead. The Jets released Morstead in May, and McNamara won the starting job despite no regular-season experience. McNamara has emerged as one of the best punters in the league. He’s fifth in net average yards (44.6), tied for fourth on punts inside the 20 with 11 and third in hang time (4.90 seconds). The Jets discovered him at a free agent kicking camp in the offseason — one of the better decisions they’ve made this year.
