A.J. Brown’s status is unclear for the Eagles’ game against the Giants on Sunday.

On Friday afternoon, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni declined to give an update on the star wide receiver, who missed Wednesday and Thursday’s practices with a hamstring injury.

Sirianni pointed to Friday evening’s practice report providing more clarity on Brown’s status.

“We’ve got to see after this practice, and you’ll get everything,” Sirianni said. “Always want the most time we have to be able to evaluate before we give you any information on that.”

Sirianni was then asked if Brown, the three-time All-Pro and sixth-year veteran, is a player who could play in a game even without practicing all week.

“Everybody has different scenarios with that,” Sirianni said. “Yeah, I think a lot of our guys, just because of how locked in they are with the details, the game plan studying, how they go about walkthroughs, how they go about meetings. Yeah, I definitely think he’s a guy that could.”

It goes without saying that Brown would be a major absence for Sunday’s NFC East clash against the Giants. Brown is coming off the best game of his frustrating season so far, recording four catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-22 win over the Vikings.

Brown did not speak with reporters after the Week 7 win at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Prior to that game, the Eagles’ up-and-down offense and Brown’s lack of involvement in it had been under scrutiny from many outside the building — and from Brown himself.

Brown, who had only 194 receiving yards through five games, expressed his displeasure with how the offense wasn’t on the same page several times in recent weeks.

Brown has also posted curious social media messages that have raised alarm bells. Just this week, Brown posted on Instagram: “Using me but not using me.”

Sirianni was asked about Brown’s recent social media post, some “dot-connecting” around him missing practice and how things are going internally with Brown.

“Always in constant communication with all of our guys, and A.J.’s no different,” Sirianni said. “Business as usual.”
