With the New England Patriots set to take on the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, we are going to look at one of the opposing players who would be a great fit for the Patriots’ roster.

Defensive end Myles Garrett is an obvious option considering he’s one of the best players in the NFL. He would make any team better. So I’ve decided to go with a more unexpected option for this week’s “Gimme Him” player.

This week, Browns safety Grant Delpit is the pick.

Delpit is having a strong season for the Browns with 37 total tackles, one sack, three pass deflections, one interception and one forced fumble. He is a consistent playmaker constantly impacting the game with his ability to excel in pass coverage on the backend of the defense, as well as coming down in the box and making tough tackles.

His best season came in 2022 when he racked up 105 tackles and four interceptions. Last year, he finished the season with a career-high 111 tackles.

Things have been up and down for the Patriots at safety this season. Veteran safety Jaylinn Hawkins has been dealing with a hamstring injury, and rookie Craig Woodson has battled growing pains. Woodson was caught out of position on a first-quarter play against the Titans and gave up a 38-yard touchdown pass.

There is serious future potential with Woodson in the backfield, but a veteran like Delpit would solidify the safety position. His physical playing style would also fit well with Patriots coach Mike Vrabel’s hard-nosed brand of football.

For now, however, Vrabel and the Patriots will need to figure out ways to beat him.
