The NFL trade deadline is quickly approaching on Nov. 4, and the Los Angeles Rams are sitting pretty at 5-2 on their bye week.
General manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay are surely looking around the league to see which players they could target to bolster the roster as the team heads into the second half of the year.
The Rams don’t have many holes, but you can never have enough playmakers when you’re vying for a Super Bowl. Just look at what they did the last time L.A. won a Lombardi Trophy: They traded for Odell Beckham Jr. and Von Miller, both of whom player massive roles in their Super Bowl victory.
This time around, the Rams find themselves in a similar yet slightly different position. They’re a contender in the league, but not far above the rest of the NFC or even the NFC West. They may look to find some upgrades now in the hopes of fortifying positions of need.
If the Rams made a move, it’ll likely be for a cornerback or reserve player to fill the gaps in their team. And with two first-round picks, L.A. could add a huge story if one piques their interest.
Here are five potential trade targets for the Rams at the deadline.
Bengals CB Cam Taylor-Britt
Taylor-Britt is a former starter who was just benched by his team. He’s only 26 and has seven interceptions in his previous two seasons. While Taylor-Britt hasn’t been as good this year (hence the benching), a change of scenery could be in order to lighten his spirits and light a fire inside of him.
Saints CB Alontae Taylor
The Saints are veering toward calamity this season and may be looking to offload talent to accrue picks while they still can. The 26-year-old isn’t a ballhawk, but he’s averaging just 5.5 yards per target and 8.1 yards per completion this year. He’s a bigger cornerback at 6-foot, 199 pounds and would provide the Rams with more starting options alongside their trio of Cobie Durant, Darious Williams and Emmanuel Forbes Jr.
Patriots S Kyle Dugger
Dugger is someone the Patriots were actively trying to trade ahead of the season and could look to do so again at the deadline. L.A. loves to play safeties, and Dugger’s 6-foot-1, 216-pound frame would be a quality addition to Kamren Kinchens and Kam Curl. Dugger would be more of a depth piece in the defense with starting experience, too.
Browns RB Jerome Ford
Running back isn’t a need for L.A., but the Rams might want a more competent backup given Blake Corum’s fumbling issues and Jarquez Hunter’s inexperience. Ford could be the odd man out in Cleveland with their duo of rookie running backs, and he has pass-catching value. He has 20 receptions and 23 rushing attempts this year. It wouldn’t take much to pry the 26-year-old away from the Browns, and he could backup Williams as a key third-down player.
Dolphins OLB Bradley Chubb
This would be similar to the Miller trade in 2021. The Rams don’t need more pass rushers, but it’s certainly nice to have more. Chubb had 11 sacks in 2023 before he tore his ACL in 2024. This year, he has four sacks in seven games with seven total quarterback pressures. Chubb would be a rotational pass-rusher alongside Jared Verse, Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart.
