The Green Bay Packers are going back on the road — after winning in Arizona last Sunday — to face Aaron Rodgers and the AFC North-leading Pittsburgh Steelers on “Sunday Night Football” from Acrisure Stadium in Week 8. Matt LaFleur’s team has won two straight games and are 4-1-1 after six games, but Rodgers and the Steelers’ pass rush probably provides the tough road test of the season for the Packers.

Here’s how the staff at Packers Wire believes the Week 8 showdown with the Steelers will go down:

I’ve gone back and forth on this prediction, initially believing the Steelers’ ability to pressure the quarterback, Aaron Rodgers’ preference for getting the ball out quick and on time and the extra motivation for Rodgers to play his best football would be enough for the Steelers to win in Pittsburgh. But all those same factors could apply to the Packers, who are actually a road favorite. With a healthy offensive line, the likely return of Christian Watson and the momentum of how the pass-rush played in Arizona, the guess here is the Packers are able to make the one or two big plays late to survive against a good team in a tough environment. This will be a terrific barometer for where the Packers are at this point in the season, and I think Matt LaFleur’s team is ready to rise to the challenge.

Brandon Carwile: Packers 24, Steelers 17 (4-1-1)

The 55-year drought ends this week. I’ve got the Packers beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Sunday, something they haven’t done since 1970 when Bart Starr was the quarterback. Aaron Rodgers will have a solid game and throw a couple of touchdowns against his former team, but it won’t be enough. Pittsburgh doesn’t have enough firepower on offense, and while TJ Watt can be problematic, he’ll be facing Green Bay’s best offensive lineman this week in Zach Tom. The Steelers’ defense is also allowing the second-most passing yards per game in 2025, which opens the door for Jordan Love to deliver a big game and outduel his predecessor.

Mark Oldacres: Packers 24, Steelers 23 (4-1-1)

Three of the Steelers’ four wins have come against the 0-7 Jets, a Vikings team led by Carson Wentz and a Browns team led by Dillon Gabriel. Their other victory was against a Patriots team that turned the ball over five times, including four fumbles. There are reasons to believe Pittsburgh is not quite the team their 4-2 record suggests, but with Aaron Rodgers facing Green Bay for the first time on “Sunday Night Football,” expect this one to be rocky. The Packers still profile as the superior team and should come out on top, but the artist formerly known as 12 will empty the tank to try to get one over on his old team.

Brennen Rupp: Packers 27, Steelers 20 (4-1-1)

Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers against Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers on “Sunday Night Football.” It doesn’t get better than this. Pittsburgh’s quick passing attack will nullify Micah Parsons and Green Bay’s pass rush, however, I think Parsons will still find away to get home and bring Rodgers down. Green Bay’s offensive line will be tested by Pittsburgh’s front seven and I expect that the offense will have lulls in the game. In the end, I think Love and the offense will convert enough third downs and make enough plays to come away with back-to-back road victories to improve to 5-1-1.
