The No. 10 Vanderbilt Commodores (6-1) look for a second straight win over a ranked opponent when they host the 15th-ranked Missouri Tigers (6-1) at FirstBank Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Vanderbilt moved into the top 10 of the polls for the first time since 1947 in the wake of its 31-24 victory over then-No. 10 LSU last week at home. The Commodores took the lead for good on Sedrick Alexander’s one-yard touchdown run with 5:52 left in the first half and held off the Tigers down the stretch. Diego Pavia accounted for three touchdowns, running for 86 yards and two scores on 17 carries while completing 14-of-22 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. Vanderbilt moved into a group of four teams tied at 2-1 in the Southeastern Conference race.

Beau Pribula scored on a three-yard run in the second overtime last week to lift Missouri to a 23-17 road win at Auburn. Ahmad Hardy’s three-yard scoring burst with 5:07 remaining in regulation tied the game after he gave the Tigers a 10-7 lead in the second quarter with a two-yard touchdown run. Missouri also comes into Saturday with a 2-1 SEC mark. Pribula threw for 252 yards but was intercepted twice in the win.

Missouri has beaten the Commodores five straight times, including a 30-27 double-overtime victory at home last season. The Tigers are 13-4-1 all-time in the series, which dates to 1895.
