The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 45-7 at Wembley Stadium in London last Sunday before their week off, and during the game, tight end Tyler Higbee wasn’t much of a factor.
With quarterback Matthew Stafford spreading the ball around to 10 different targets in Week 7, Higbee caught just three of his six targets for just 19 yards. While Higbee’s likely ecstatic this team had such a dominant performance overseas, he probably wishes he made more of an impact.
This disappointment doesn’t end there for Higbee, as the league also fined him $14,491 for an unsportmanlike conduct that was deemed a “violent gesture” by the NFL after his longest catch of the day, a nine-yard, first-down reception in the first quarter.
The league banned the “nose wipe” celebration this past offseason. It’s supposed to result in a penalty, but the referees didn’t call it during the game.
