Travis Kelce contemplated retirement but chose to continue with the Kansas City Chiefs for at least another season.
Kelce invested in Six Flags, saying, “I could not pass this opportunity up.”
He intends to visit multiple parks and remains focused on the NFL season ahead.
Travis Kelce seriously considered retirement in the offseason before ultimately deciding to return to the Kansas City Chiefs for potentially one final run. After a relatively slow start to the campaign by his very high standards, the four-time All-Pro tight end has been heating up of late, helping lead his team to a 4-3 record after seven weeks.
In seven games played, Kelce has registered 31 catches for 375 yards and two touchdowns. He will get a chance to add to his tally on Monday night when the Chiefs host the Washington Commanders at Arrowhead Stadium for a primetime showdown.

It remains unclear at this point if Kelce will continue to play beyond 2025. His two-year, $34.25 million deal with the Chiefs will end at the conclusion of this current season, which means this could very well be his final year in the NFL.
Either way, Kelce has already been making a lot of moves off the field to make sure that there’s going to be a life for him even after his time in the NFL. Among other things, the 36-year-old had already entered the world of acting and hosting, opened his own restaurant with teammate Patrick Mahomes and continues to expand his 87 and Running Foundation.

It was also recently announced that Kelce had decided to invest in the renowned American amusement park company, Six Flags. The Chiefs star, along with other investors, have reportedly put in around $200 million to buy roughly 9% of the company, which operates 42 world-class parks across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Kelce spoke about his big decision during the most recent episode of his “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce.
“It came across the desk, and I could not pass this opportunity up,” Travis Kelce said. “I’m teaming up with Jana Partners, with Six Flags and Cedar Fair. We’re going to be a part of the theme park and the amusement parks that absolutely rocked our world as kids. And hopefully, give families nowadays the fun and the memories we had and we cherished growing up.

“So excited for this. I can’t tell you how crazy it is to say that I’m a part of this group now as an investor in these theme parks that we absolutely loved growing up.”
Kelce then went on to announce his plan to hit up as many parks as he can in the offseason.
“I can’t even put myself in my 9-year-old shoes,” Kelce said. “… You can just be a kid forever. … I got my Prestige season pass ready to rock and roll. As soon as the season’s over with, I’m going to go up there and hit the park. I’m going to try to get to as many as I can this offseason. Just lay my eyes on what everything Six Flags has to offer outside of just Ohio.”

Jason Kelce, who revealed that he, too, will be investing in Six Flags, suggested they film a podcast episode from inside the parks. Travis Kelce thought it was a great idea. “Live from the rollercoaster, dude,” added the Chiefs TE.
Kelce’s next chance to further cement his legacy on the football field will be in Week 8 against the Commanders. It’s going to be a “Monday Night Football” matchup for the Chiefs, with kickoff from Arrowhead Stadium scheduled at 8:15 p.m. ET.
