The Tennessee Titans made a bold trade last offseason when they sent a fourth-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs for cornerback L’Jarius Sneed. At the time, it seemed like a steal because Sneed was among the best in the league and a Day 3 pick is far from premium capital.
However, Sneed only played in a handful of games last year for the team due to injury, and discipline from the NFL may be looming due to an off the field issue. That leaves the Titans with very few solidified options at cornerback outside of Jarvis Brownlee Jr, which could be a major issue for the Tennessee defense.

On Tuesday, however, new general manager Mike Borgonzi attempted to remedy this situation. According to Jeremy Fowler, the Titans signed six-year veteran cornerback Amani Oruwariye, who last played for the Dallas Cowboys and has 40 career starts under his belt.

In a corresponding move, the team released recently-signed undrafted free agent corner Virgil Lemons. Oruwariye has the opportunity to be a strong rotational player for Tennessee alongside Roger McCreary and rookie Marcus Harris.
The cornerback room for the Titans is suddenly shaping up to be okay, as long as the defensive line can continually get pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Oruwariye is not the flashiest or most well-known player, but he may be exactly what Tennessee needs at this juncture of the offseason.
