The Los Angeles Rams began the 2025 NFL season with a big question at quarterback: would Matthew Stafford be healthy?

You may have forgotten that storyline given how well the offense has played over the first seven weeks of the season.

Los Angeles boasts the fourth-best passing attack in the NFL behind their 37-year-old passer and his league-leading 17 touchdowns as well as one of the top wide receiver duos. Puka Nacua‘s taken a step in Year 3 under coach Sean McVay and trade acquisition Davante Adams has come up huge for the Rams’ offense. His three touchdowns in Week 7 powered a dominant 35-7 win over Jacksonville in London.

Though it may not get the same attention as the high-powered offense, the Rams’ defense has quietly been one of the top units in the league. Los Angeles ranks second in points allowed per game at just 16.7 behind one of the best red zone defenses. Opposing teams have scored touchdowns just 40% of the time they enter the red zone, the second-lowest average in the NFL.

Los Angeles’ two losses – Week 3 against Philadelphia and Week 5 against San Francisco – have come by a combined 10 points. The Rams are undoubtedly one of many contenders in the NFC.
