Fantasy owners (who have him), rejoice, Puka Nacua is set to make his return this weekend for the 5-2 Los Angeles Rams.
Per head coach Sean McVay, Nacua is expected to be a full participant in practice come Wednesday, and barring any setbacks, will start for the team on Sunday as they take on the 1-7 New Orleans Saints at home.
Nacua sprained his ankle three weeks ago in the middle of L.A.’s eventual win over the Baltimore Ravens, landing awkwardly after deflecting a pass in the endzone that otherwise would have been an interception. Before going down with the injury, Nacua led the league in receptions and overall receiving yards, putting himself in a direct competition with Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathon Taylor for Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Before the Rams went on a bye last week, they last placed in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Without their top receiver, McVay deployed a unique heavy personnel offense, utilizing four different tight ends throughout the game. Matthew Stafford threw to 10 different receivers and recorded five touchdowns, setting himself up for a chance at his first MVP award.
Along with Nacua, veteran tackle Rob Havenstein is also expected to practice this week and be in line to play on Sunday, having also missed a month with an ankle injury.
