Packers WR Christian Watson makes an impact in his first game back
Green Bay Packers receiver Christian Watson caught four passes for 85 yards in his first game since tearing his ACL in the 2024 regular-season finale.
Before the NFL season, former Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander said he was “in the right place” playing for the Baltimore Ravens.
After signing a one-year deal, the 28-year-old was looking to contribute to a Ravens team with Super Bowl aspirations and bounce back after several injury-plagued seasons with the Packers.
Through the first half of the season, none of it has panned out as he envisioned. Alexander is no longer seeing the field despite not appearing to be hurt.
Baltimore, which has struggled in 2025, finally had its best game of the year on defense as the Ravens beat the Chicago Bears, 30-16, on Oct. 26 for just their second win of the season. The Ravens not only held Caleb Williams and Chicago to a season-low in points, but it was also the fewest points allowed by Baltimore all year.
But Alexander wasn’t part of the effort. He was on the sideline — again. And apparently not because of injury, though it’s clear something isn’t right after knee issues kept him out of practices for about a month in August.

It’s been a familiar spot for him this season and his long-term future in Baltimore doesn’t appear good.
Here’s what to know about Jaire Alexander’s status with the Ravens:

Alexander, who missed several weeks of training camp as he tended to a knee injury that cost him most of last season in Green Bay, has appeared in only two of the Ravens seven games in 2025: the season opener in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills and Week 5 against the Houston Texans on Oct. 5.
After that contest, he wasn’t on the inactive list for the team’s game against the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 12 but just didn’t play.
Then following, the team’s bye, on Oct. 26 against the Bears, he was on the inactive list, though there was no injury designation given for him and he’s been practicing, meaning he was just a healthy scratch and on the wrong side of the numbers with the roster. It was the same designation he had in Weeks 2, 3 and 4.
After Alexander gave up a couple big plays in the Week 1 loss to the Bills, head coach John Harbaugh told Baltimore media that they needed to get Alexander “right.” Alexander had his knee drained during training camp before he was shut down.
And earlier in the season ahead of one of his inactive designations, Harbaugh said of Alexander: “He’s doing great, and going to be (playing) sooner, rather than later. He’s practicing, and it’s coming along really well. He’s chomping at the bit for sure, and I just want to be fair to him and do the right thing.”
That hasn’t come to fruition.
The Packers play the Ravens in Week 17 on Dec. 28, but based on how the first half has gone it seems unlikely Alexander will be out on the field.

If healthy, Alexander not seeing the field is surprising given his stature. But over the last few years he hasn’t been healthy, an unfortunate turn of events for a talented player.
Alexander is a former first-round pick by the Packers and two-time All-Pro. But he missed a combined 20 of 34 games across the 2023 and 2024 seasons in Green Bay. It was a shoulder injury in 2023 (plus a team suspension) and then a groin injury last year followed by a torn PCL in his right knee. He eventually had arthroscopic surgery to clean out the knee late in the season after experiencing swelling while attempting to return.
“It’s unfortunate,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said ahead of the team’s regular season finale in January. “It is what it is. I feel for him, obviously trying to get his knee right. It wasn’t getting right. So, yeah, it’s just a tough deal for all of us.”
A season-ending shoulder injury also cost him 13 games in 2021.
