With Arden Key struggling to come back from a quad injury and rookie Femi Oladejo on injured reserve, the Titans‘ thin edge unit took another hit on Sunday, losing Ali Gaye to a knee injury during the first half of action.Â
With only Dre’Mont Jones, Jihad Ward and Jaylen Harrell the only healthy edge rushers left, the Titans dipped into the New England Patriots‘ practice squad to sign outside linebacker Truman Jones to the 53-man roster in a move announced by his agency, JL Sports.
Jones entered the league as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Harvard following the 2023 NFL draft with the Kansas City Chiefs, and spent his rookie season on their practice squad. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound joined the Patriots’ practice squad in 2024, and made his NFL debut in the season finale, making two tackles split between defense and special teams against the Buffalo Bills.Â
This season, the Patriots elevated Jones for Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints, where he saw action on 11 special teams snaps on the team’s coverage units.Â
Jones should be on the field on Wednesday, when the team starts preparations for their Week 8 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.Â
