The Washington Commanders were on the road in Week 8 when they faced the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on Monday Night Football.
It was a difficult game to watch for Commanders fans as Washington fell 28-7 after the Chiefs scored 21 unanswered points in the second half. Laremy Tunsil went down with a hamstring injury. Javon Kinlaw went down with a shoulder injury. Jaylin Lane muffed a punt and dropped a pass. Deebo Samuel turned the ball over on the first drive of the game. Play-calling wasn’t great.
The defense was a bright spot, creating two takeaways and sacking Patrick Mahomes three times. But they didn’t blitz him, and that lack of pressure allowed him to do Patrick Mahomes things, and it was effective. There are a lot of holes on the defensive side of the ball, thanks largely to injuries, but they played well even without much depth or rest.
Let’s take a look at the best (and worst) performers on both sides of the ball, as graded by Pro Football Focus.
